Happy Birthday Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

I never thought I'd write what follows but unfortunately it's happening.  Today, April 21, 2023, Queen Elizabeth II's 97th birthday is celebrated, the first, however, without Elizabeth II. A shiver just went through my body and my eyes are filled with tears. I don't want to write and tell things that we all know about the eternal Queen, the woman who seemed immortal in our eyes, but who had to, however, give way and say goodbye to earthly life.   I would like to write my thoughts on this great Woman, with a capital D. Many may disagree, but as a young woman, I only drew inspiration. I was lucky enough to have 3 out of 4 grandparents, and luckily, I still enjoy the presence of grandmothers in my life. Grandmothers, more or less the same age, with the Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, and it is perhaps for this reason that I have so much admiration. Surely Elizabeth enjoyed a more agitated life than my grandmothers, but the fact remains that she grew up du...

Waiting for the Coronation of Charles III and Queen Camilla, third act.

We talked about the most "important" details of the coronation, now let's move on to the lighter part; what will the other women of the royal family wear for the coronation? The dress code for the coronation of Charles III has not yet been decided, so we still don't know exactly what awaits us, but we can try to imagine it. Probably the other royal ladies will wear long dresses, perhaps designed for them by the big British fashion houses, of course. I imagine Princess Anne in a super minimal dress, essential and without too many frills. The new Duchess of Edinburgh with a glamorous dress with a clean line that can reflect her new status within the family. Princess of Wales: eh we have a lot to talk about here. I could bet that the designer who will design her dress for this event will be the same one who designed her wedding dress: Alexander McQueen. By now he accompanies her in every big event - last in importance is obviously the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Seein...

Waiting for the Coronation of Charles III and Queen Camilla, second act.

What will King Charles III be crowned with?  Today we will analyze the symbols, in particular the crowns with which King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla will be crowned (with which she will no longer be called Queen Consort). After 70 years it was taken from the Tower of London, the most important jewel among the jewels of the English Crown: we are talking about the Crown of Saint Edward.  The latter has been used since 1661 for the coronation of Kings, after the previous one was destroyed on the orders of Oliver Cromwell during the English Civil War. It is thought to be a copy of the crown worn by Edward the Confessor, which in turn incorporated some materials from the crown that belonged to Alfred the Great. (Small note before moving on to the description of the Crown: neither the (great) Queen Victoria, nor her son Edward VII were crowned with the St Edward's Crown, due to its weight of 2155 grams, preferring the Imperial State Crown.)  The Crown of Saint Edwar...

Princess of Wales Easter's outfit

Jesus is risen, Hallelujah Hallelujah (somewhere in the world) Here, after this brief Christian-Catholic parenthesis and to avoid hurting the hearts of non-Christians, let's move on to the essentials: the Easter looks of Catherine, Princess of Wales. Contrary to the Christmas procession, here the working royals and the whole royal family can choose whether to participate or not. Like Christmas, Easter also has its church and castle of celebration. We are in Windsor, in the largest and oldest castle still inhabited, until last year inhabited by HER, Elizabeth II. Last year, the then Duchess of Cambridge brightened up the spring at Windsor Castle, with an upcycled cerulean coatdrees that fit her divinely, by the favorite designer of her late and never known mother-in-law Catherine Walker. To find another Easter look from the Princess of Wales, you need to go before the Covid period; so here is the Easter 2019 look, in which she focused, once again, on her beloved cerulean, also a rec...

Waiting for the Coronation of Charles III and Queen Camilla, first act.

8 September 2022: I want to start from this date to talk about the event that will turn its eyes to the United Kingdom again within a month. I was in Egypt, enjoying my well-deserved vacation, when, over lunch, Buckingham Palace issued a statement that would change all of our lives. I remember very well the tightness in my stomach, as if I already knew what was going to happen next. But I decide to think positively, I enjoy the last hours of the sun, and then go up to my room to get ready for dinner and the following night at the disco. But as soon as I get out of the shower, I turn on the phone and there is the notification that nobody wants to read: London Bridge is down. This is the wording to indicate the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She, the Queen of records, the one who had become the symbol of a nation, had suddenly reached her beloved Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill. The throne, the scepter and all the burdens passed rightfully into the ...

Princess of Wales glam week

I think by now you all know how much I adore fashion and royalty, they are my greatest passions; could I ever not comment on this week's actual events that provided us with some super glam looks?  Answer: OBVIOUSLY NOT.  So let's proceed. Fans of royal families, especially the British royal family, know very well that this week we had 2 very important events: Commonwealth Day and the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Just like every year, on the second Monday of March at Westminster Abbey, a religious service is held in the presence of the royal family. Never like this year, the working royals were all lined up: from the princess royal, passing through the new Dukes of Edinburgh up to the top of the throne, the Princes of Wales and the royal couple. Obviously, attention is always focused on the women of the royal family:  Princess Anna has accustomed us to her minimal and no-frills style;  The new duchess of Edinburgh also has a classic and timeless style;  The Queen co...

The wedding of H.R.H. Princess Iman of Jordan and Mr Jameel Alexander Thermiotis

Well well well, you thought you had me out and instead, here I am. Today we are talking about awonderful event: a royal wedding. We are in Amman, the capital of Jordan, and two young men in love are getting married. The groom, of Greek origins, born in Venezuela, graduated in finance in the United States; she, born princess, second child of what will be the most beautiful queen of all time and her husband king, identical to her mother, whose studies end in the United States. We are talking about H.R.H Princess Iman of Jordan and Mr Jameel Alexander Thermiotis. Their engagement had been announced surprisingly in July 2022, precisely because the children of the king of Jordan live a very private life. Even today, several months later, we don't know how they met, how many years they've been together, whether they'll live in Jordan or New York. Just as the wedding date was a surprise: announced just a week before the big event, nobody knew what to expect. The event was preceded...
